About AVS

Atlantic Valuation Services, LLC (AVS) was established in December 2005 by Chad and Leslie Shoaf with the goal of providing high-quality appraisal services throughout southeastern coastal North Carolina.

In January 2026, Mark and Caitlyn Dolak acquired AVS from Chad and Leslie, who continue to serve clients through the firm. This transition preserves the experience, relationships, and commitment to service that have defined Atlantic Valuation Services while positioning the company for continued growth.

Today, AVS focuses primarily on residential real estate appraisals throughout southeastern coastal North Carolina while providing commercial appraisal services from Raleigh and the Triangle to the coast. The firm also has specialized experience in eminent domain appraisal assignments throughout the state. Together, our team brings more than 50 years of combined experience across a wide range of property types and appraisal assignments.
